Dances and Funnies: Jan 13-17
Dance first. Think later. It's the natural order. - Samuel Beckett
I hope that you are doing a lot more dancing and less thinking these days - it is a great time to enjoy life more.
Swing City was an amazing party on Friday - thanks to Sam for a fun workshop and to Brittney for keeping him on track and making him look good. We also had plenty of funky, playful music to keep the dance floor hopping all night long.
Sam was so well received at the workshop that I have asked him to teach the Beginner and Advanced West Coast Swing classes that start this Sunday - I will co-teach with Sam, so you get 2 instructors for the same price. There is still room in both classes so call soon if you wish to join these or other classes. Beginner East Coast Swing also starts Sunday night - a great introduction to the social dance scene.
This Friday Warren Scott and Tara McMillan will have you playing with your Rumba before DJ Johnny deP plays your favourites for the Ballroom dance at 9pm. Get your friends together and join us for some fun on the dance floor. Let me know if you have a group of 6 or more and I will reserve a table for you. Start socializing early and share a ride to the club.
Some classes commenced last week and more start this week – keep that first major resolution and get on the dance floor early and often. There is a great selection of classes on the Lessons page. Check out the new pricing for Wednesday and Sunday classes.
Please note that the Beginner Rumba and Cha Cha class starts this Friday, January 15th and had an incorrect start date in previous newsletters.
Please also note that the Club Revue Ballroom dance originally slated for Saturday, January 23rd had to be moved to January 30th. It has been renamed the 30th Anniversary Almost Semi-Formal Mostly Social Ball. Advance tickets ONLY! See Advance Tickets below for more information.
"Toes 'n' Taps Dance Shoppe invites you to join them Saturday, January 30th from 10am - 5pm for their 6th Annual 'Dancer Appreciation Day', in Celebration of Dance Days! Receive Dancer Dollar Coupons to Spend In-Store, Enter Amazing Prize Draws & Enjoy Free Gourmet Coffee!"
My 30th Anniversary dance cruises to Europe and the Caribbean were locked in at the Canadian Dollar price last year - so these cruises are looking even better now - book soon if you want a great price on a dance cruise before the cruise line decides to change the great deal we have.
