Dancing in all its forms cannot be excluded from the curriculum of all noble education; dancing with the feet, with ideas, with words, and, need I add that one must also be able to dance with the pen? ~Friedrich Nietzsche

Dancing in all its forms, as Nietzsche says, needs to be incorporated into the curriculum at schools. Today, though, dancing with a pen has evolved into dancing with a computer. Still, dancing with the feet (and even better - with a partner) is much more fun.

Warren Scott will show us how to play with our Rumba in the workshop on Friday at Swing City. It is time for some serious play time in this beautiful and sexy dance. I will play a great mix of Ballroom, Latin and Swing music at the dance that follows.

There is a single lady looking to find someone to share a cabin on the Norway Dance Cruise in August. Please let me know this week if that cruise is of interest to you - dancevictoria@telus.net.

My 30th Anniversary Social Dance featuring the music of Ron King will be held on Saturday, April 30th at the Edelweiss Club. I will teach Cha Cha in the workshop to start the evening and play a fun mix of music in the breaks. Ron is an amazingly versatile entertainer with a great voice and a wide repertoire of Ballroom, Latin and Swing tunes. It will be a great way to close out the month of April. Reserve your tickets with me at dancevictoria@telus.net.

Brand New classes for April and May are listed on the Lessons Page. These classes have been specifically designed to provide you with many hours of fun on the dance floor.

Tickets for the three Victoria tables I have set aside for Island Fantasy Ball are almost sold out. Contact me soon if you wish to join us. See more info below.

My Caribbean Dance Cruise in February 2017 is almost sold out. Cabins on my 2017 Caribbean Dance Cruise are filling up quickly - book soon if you want a great price on a dance cruise before the cabins are gone. Email me at dancevictoria@telus.net for more information.

Congratulations to David & Denise Spence who recently won the right to represent Canada at the World Championships in Italy in July in Senior 3 Ballroom. They celebrated their 25th Wedding Anniversary last Sunday and sent me a nice note: "We wouldn't have taken up ballroom dancing to the extent we have if we hadn't had you to establish the foundation and the love of dance! We always enjoyed your classes." It is great to see them doing so well. We wish them all the best in Italy!!

Mom... Dad is playing with his words again:

  1. Why did the Clydesdale give the pony a glass of water? Because he was a little horse.

  2. I ate a clock yesterday it was so time consuming.

  3. Steak puns... they're a rare-medium, well done.

  4. Want to hear a joke about construction? Nah, I'm still working on it.

  5. I thought about going on an all-almond diet. But that's just nuts.

  6. I've just written a song about a tortilla well, it's more of a rap really.

  7. What's the advantage of living in Switzerland? Well, the flag is a big plus.

  8. My friend was the hardest working car salesman in town. He came home every night exhaust-ed.

  9. I used to work for a soft drink can crushing company. It was soda pressing.

  10. Why can't you hear a pterodactyl using the bathroom? Because the P is silent.
