Masquerade Ball Tickets go on sale on Tuesday, May 10th at 9am. The Big Band Formal Masquerade Ball will be held on Saturday, May 28th at SJ Willis Auditorium. Masks, while encouraged, are not required. Tickets will again be sold to couples and tables of ten in an effort to keep the numbers balanced. Start planning your table of ten now. Masquerade Masks: Venetian style masks are made locally and you can view them on line at http://www.thevenetianmask.com/. He can do a showing in his home if there are enough people interested in these - let me know. There are also a selection of masquerade masks at Jeannie's store for under $5 if you want to go a less expensive route. Her Dollar Store is at 5138 Cordova Bay Road.
Celebrate Friday the 13th with a fun West Coast Swing workshop and dance at Swing City this week. Sam Jackson will teach the workshop and I will play a great mix of Swing music with a dash of Ballroom and Latin thrown in at the dance that follows from 9 to 11pm.
Dance Classes for May are listed on the lessons Page and start this week. Find new life on the dance floor with these fun classes. Single men needed for Beginner Waltz/Foxtrot, Silver Tango, Silver Paso Doble and West Coast Swing classes.
The New 2016 West Coast Swing Flash Mob will be taught by John and Darlene on Wednesday evenings from 8:30 to 9:30pm. This 6 week course is only $20pp for the whole series. Please register in advance with John. 2) John's 30th Anniversary Big Band Formal Masquerade Ball - Saturday, May 28th featuring the Commodores 18 Piece Big Band in the SJ Willis Auditorium from 8 to 11pm. Tickets will be sold for couples and for tables of ten only and go on sale on May 10th at 9am when you can reserve by email at firstname.lastname@example.org. Tickets are $35 per person.
3) Summer Vibrations - a Victoria West Coast Swing event on Saturday, June 11th with Sheila & John Criton at Silver Threads Hall, 286 Hampton Road. 3 afternoon workshops starting at 2pm followed by an evening beginner workshop and dance starting at 7:30pm. To register email email@example.com with ‘Register Me’ in the subject line and please include your name and phone number in the body of the email. The cost is $40 for an event pass / wristband for all 3 workshops and dance plus the free lesson for newbie’s. Payment is due on or before June 7th.
