If you can't get rid of the skeleton in your closet, you'd best teach it to dance. - George Bernard Shaw

It's time to get our skeletons out of the closet, dress them up, put masks on them and go to the Ball. My 30th Anniversary Big Band Formal Masquerade Ball will be held on Saturday, May 28th at SJ Willis Auditorium. Masks are encouraged, but not required. The two tables that were at the end of the dance floor at the last Formal will be removed to increase the size of the dance floor resulting in 20 fewer tickets for this event. There will be a slight price increase due to fewer tickets. To keep the numbers balanced the tickets will again be sold to couples and tables of ten so start planning your table of ten now. If the last Formal Ball is any indication then tickets will go very quickly for this event again. See Advance Tickets below for more info.

Masquerade Masks: A local fellow makes Venetian and other styles of Masks and you can view his creations on line at http://www.thevenetianmask.com/. He can do a showing in his home if there are enough people interested in these - let me know. Also: Jeannie has a selection of masquerade masks in her store for under $5 if you want to go a less expensive route. Check out some pictures below. Her Dollar Store is at 5138 Cordova Bay Road.

Keep your bones moving in the Waltz workshop at Swing City at 8pm on Friday, May 6th. After the workshop I will play a fun mix of Ballroom, Latin and Swing music for the dance from 9 to 11pm.

Dance Classes for April and May are listed on the Lessons Page. Teach your skeleton new dance moves in these fun classes. Single Lady needed for Friday Beginner West Coast Swing - contact John at dancevictoria@telus.net if you are interested in this class.

Found: One ladies dance shoe and one tie left behind at the highly energetic 30th Anniversary Social Dance on April 30th. Let me know if you are missing one or both.

There are only three cabins left for my Caribbean Dance Cruise in February 2017. There are only 3 balcony cabins left at the group rate - the inside and outside group rate cabins are sold out, but you can still get an inside or outside cabin at the regular cruise rate and join our group. Email me at dancevictoria@telus.net for more information.
